Unrighteous Indignation - A Different Type Of Perspective

A Different Type Of Perspective

As I prepared the vitriol I intended to send/email to lovefilm after the indignation of being denied Homeland Series 1 Disc 2 after watching Disc 1 weeks ago and was subsequently palmed off with Pitch Perfect and now Parade’s End. Not that I mind watching the latter; it’s just that if you send someone Disc 1 in a series then you should at least follow up with Disc 2.

As I patted myself for writing my letter/email, a thought occurred to me, you don’t have problems if the main thing that upsets you right now is lovefilm sending the wrong film. I began to think about people in much dire situations e.g. people starving.

I still sent my letter, all that pent up indignation had to be put to good use. However, I was left with an overwhelming desire to do something about people in dire situations. Whether it’s suspending my lovefilm membership and giving that money to charity or making some other form charitable contribution.

I guess the moral of the story is:
  • Do we have a right to complain when not given the service we paid for? Yes indeedy!

  • More importantly, when you think you have problems there is someone else having it worse than you. Let’s spare a thought for those less privileged than us and help anyway we can (even prayer counts – I don’t care what Ricky Gervais says; sometimes all you can offer is to put a petition before the Lord God almighty to bring forth change)

Vive le Boateng!

In other football news I was absolutely chuffed to read about Boateng walking off the pitch after being regaled with racist chanting. Talk about standing up against racism. I was also impressed to see that his team supported him.

Well done guys!

How do you solve a problem like Mario Balotelli?

It's only three days into 2013 (by the way Happy 2013) and this happened.

There are no comments from Mancini or Mario so, no one knows what really happened except the stuff speculated in the press (i.e. it seems there was a fracas between Mario and a team mate where Mancini intervened but, the intervention seemed to turn into a bust up with Mario). However, according to the BBC Mancini is due to give a press conference tomorrow morning.

I don't get it. There are speculations that Mario was not at fault irrespective, it makes him look bad. I can't see many managers being encouraged to sign him after this, the whole thing makes him look uncontrollable and someone who will engage in bust ups with his manager when provoked. Whether his at fault or not may not come into the question. Part of me feels sorry for him but, another part of me strongly believes that he should have employed some wisdom here especially since he is the one likely to be worse off from this. God help Mario!

God help Man City and Mancini too, because I'm not sure what this is going to do to team dynamics or team relations.

Le Sigh!
